We met at St Therese Catholic Church. We would attend the same evening mass every weekend. I would arrive half an hour before mass to make sure I got the same spot behind Cindy and her mom. This went on for a long while till one New Year’s Day mass when Cindy didn't attend and her mom wished me a happy new year. I saw this as the perfect 'in' to starting a conversation with Cindy the following weekend. That weekend in the pouring rain I introduced myself and asked Cindy for coffee. She accepted and that was the start of many more adventures.
Just short of 2 years.
We are a relaxed and fun-loving couple that enjoy the outdoors, movies and family time. We love being in each other's company.
We took a drive one Saturday in June to Hartebeespoort dam. Along the way we stopped for lunch at The Windmill Restaurant. After lunch we went for a walk in the gardens. At one point right at the start of the walk we crossed a tiny rickety foot bridge and I noticed Marcelino was no longer next to me. I turned around and saw that he was down on one knee with an open ring box. That was one of the most amazing moments of my life.
The engagement shoot was included in the package we booked with our photographers. We were incredibly nervous but saw it as an opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera as a warm up for the wedding day. The whole experience was positive and we are so grateful to have so many moments beautifully captured.
We went to Rosemary Hill Farm. This location was recommended to us by our photographers. This location was ideal as it allowed us to spend an afternoon in nature. The scenery was varied from the beautiful greenhouse to the maze and the stunning tall trees in the forest.
Our engagement shoot was inspired by our love for nature and outdoors as well as the popular floral and navy trends.
I chose the ring with the help of a few hints dropped by Cindy on her Facebook page and cell phone gallery ;)
The vision for the wedding is very much our own. We have been involved in all aspects of the planning however very fortunately our venue as well as our decor company both include a wedding co-ordinator which makes the process a lot more manageable
The wedding day will be a big Portuguese wedding. There will be lots of food, music and dancing. The decor will be simple and elegant. The colour palette will feature navy, soft light grey, white and greenery.
We are an utterly passionate husband and wife team, who's had the privilege of working together since 2010, capturing beautiful, natural and real moments as they take place.
