This year, we saw 12 beautiful brides and their dashing husbands fly into Cape Town from all over South Africa to celebrate our 17th annual Bride of the Year and compete for the prestigious title.
This year's festivities took place at Anura Wine Estate's event space, The Cooperage, which is an architectural masterpiece of space, light and scenic views to die for.
After months of planning and with help from our special friends in the wedding industry, we've put together an evening of pure glitz and glamour where our twelve couples could enjoyably wear their wedding attire again, strut their stuff on the catwalk and enjoy an entire weekend of pampering.
The venue was kitted out to perfection thanks to Tech X who provided the beautiful stage, sound and lighting; To-Nett's who supplied the most magnificent flower arrangements and draping; and Authentic Planning for the decor and trendy decorative lighting.
Upon arrival, guests were treated to fire dancing from Fire Tribe, incredible wines from Anura Wine Estate, gin tastings from Woodstock Gin Company, music by Zest Music, a harvest table courtesy of Klein River Cheese and the most mouth-watering candy station by Shake 'n Bake, Meraki Blush Bakery, Sweet Lion Heart and Mantelli's!
Jack Rabbit made sure our guests were well taken care of with the most delicious canapés on arrival and wraps and burgers proceeding the show.
On stage, our finalists were introduced to the audience by celebrity event MC, Graeme Richards, who was exceptional on the evening, entertaining guests with his quick wit and charm.
After our couples strutted their stuff on stage, Louise Day kept the crowd entertained whilst our celebrity judges deliberated on who was going to walk away with the crown. This year's judges were Lylie Moolman, General Manager of Giltedge Ocean Islands, Bobby Brown and Lindy Hibbard from Smile FM's breakfast Show and South African Model, Ashley Rothman.
