Moroccanoil Treatment has taken the beauty world by storm and revolutionised the way we should style and treat our hair. Honestly speaking I was a bit late on the early train but thanks to the wonderful team behind the brand I recently got to try four of their amazing products. The treatment contains formula that restores protein for strength, fatty acids, omega-3 oils and vitamins for shine and antioxidants for protection. In the wake of summer I couldn’t think of a better time to try a product which heals the gaps in hair which has been affected by heat styling and environmental damage.
Our SA Weddings theme of month is Oasis, meaning a spot of water found in the desert. There couldn’t be a more fitting product than these. Let’s start with the look and feel, the blue with a touch of orange packaging has a high end and slim line look. Moroccanoil prides itself on word of mouth, rightfully so, it’s a product you are destined to hear about before actually trying it. I always believe that asking opinions of friends and colleagues is as valuable as researching something yourself.
MoroccanOil is rather pricey but when you want the best you have to be willing to fork out the cash for it. Oil has long proven to be the miracle product for hair and I know this first hand as my grandmother used to put coconut oil in my hair every year for years as a child. My hair over the years got more damaged as I dyed and bleached it and after using the products simultaneously I saw my hair had more body and shine.
I love the smell of the product as well as the shine and texture of my hair after using it. The hydrating shampoo work well to retain moisture to dry and damaged hair mainly through heat styling and sun. The shampoo works best with very wet hair and when in doubt – ADD more water. The shampoo is colour safe and made for all hair types. The Intense Hydrating Mask is made specifically for medium to thick dry hair which is my type down to a T. This product is applied to towel dried hair and stays on for 5 minutes before being rinsed off. A hair mask is not always necessary to use after every hair wash but can be beneficial when your hair needs an extra boost. These two products work seamlessly together to restore hair and prepare it for the piez de resistance which comes next.
Moroccanoil Treatment is the most popular of all products within the range, it is the most versatile product able to be used as a conditioning, styling and finishing tool. My favourite part is that it aids in the drying process too, as it can be used by itself on wet hair or before blow-drying. Only a drop is needed to see maximum results which makes a well-priced bottle of this magic so worth it. After the treatment oil I did not think at home hair care could get any better until I used Glimmer Shine.
Glimmer Shine should almost be renamed to hair perfume as you should not leave home without spraying some of it on. It’s a necessity finishing spray which creates an incredible shine and enhances the colour and texture of your hair. It prevents static and frizz and further enhances your hair after repeated use.
Having never tried Moroccanoil products before I went in sceptical of just how magical a few bottles of hair products could be. How wrong I was to doubt these , although a bit on the pricier side of life even just one of the four can make a drastic difference to the overall look and feel of your hair. I have recognized my hair looking and setting a lot healthier and voluminous after a mere two weeks of use. A treatment and glimmer shine are definitely cosmetic bag necessities for your honeymoon and wedding week!
