Of course you’ll see the usual suspects like corseted bodices and mermaid silhouettes, but we’d also like to show you the pieces with a twist- unconventional colour, feminine florals and off-the-shoulder silhouettes right off the international catwalks.
For all the brides deciding on that perfect dress (or for those of you just looking for some inspiration images to add to your gallery) we give you next year’s top wedding dress trends.

Florals and Pastels
One of the hottest trends for spring are florals and they fit perfectly with the current trend for Bohemian weddings. Soft pinks and blush colours are the colours de jour, as seen in these gorgeous gowns.

Cold Shoulder Gowns
We all know strapless isn't going nowhere, but off-the-shoulder dresses are making a big appearance on the 2016 fashion ramps as well as in next years bridal collections.
The straight-across neckline perfectly balances out brides with wider hips and longer sleeves cover up arms without losing any of the softness or femininity. It’s a very beautiful, romantic silhouette that Marchesa gets right every time.

Boat necks
More flattering than they sound, boat neck dresses highlight the collar bones and balance out pear-shaped brides with narrow shoulders. We love that the sophisticated cut gives a little more coverage to conservative brides without losing any of the style and class.

Deep V’s
Plunging necklines were taken to the next level for bridal by Reem Acra and Oscar de la Renta- slashed almost down to the waist giving a strong, sexy silhouette. The look can be softened with chiffon panels or scalloped laced edges, but on the whole we’d recommend brides with fuller busts steer clear of this trend.

Layers
We really love the new layered shapes that have appeared on the runway for 2017, offering brides unusual lengths and layers to play with. This new trend proves that a dress doesn’t have to sweep the floor for a modern, Bohemian bride looking for something a little different.

Capes and Caplets
Conservative brides are going to go bananas for this trend and it couldn’t be more romantic and feminine if it tried. Ananasul Y perfected the look on the runway in London, Monique Lhuillier kept it romantic with lace and Reem Acra opted for a floor-length, ethereal veil-version.
We can’t think of a more sophisticated way to cover up for a more formal or religious ceremony and then you can strip down for a sexier look into the evening.

Peplums and pockets
Ah the peplum! A designer’s gift to those of us wanting to hide a little extra jiggle and create the perfect hour-glass silhouette.
We saw them in a range of fabrics and lengths – from lace to embroidered tulle - perfectly executed by Reem Acra.

Sheer Panels
It was only a matter of time before the sheer trend made its way from the red carpet onto the bridal catwalk and we couldn’t be happier about it. Play with sheer panels in cut outs to give just a peek-a-boo of skin where you’d least expect it.
The effect? Ethereal and even a little scandalous!
